Our Terms & Conditions

Quote Validity
  1. Quoted prices are valid for 30 days from the date of issuance. 

  2. Prices are subject to change due to:    

  3.  Changes in opening size    

  4. Differences in final measurements compared to initial estimates 

  5. Variations in material costs, labour rates, or supplier pricing

Acceptance
  1. Acceptance of the quotation is binding and non-negotiable, except by mutual agreement of both parties. 

  2. Acceptance of the quote is confirmed upon receipt of a written or electronic confirmation, payment of the required deposit, or the signing of a formal agreement. Verbal agreements will be deemed valid only when supported by written confirmation.

Terms of Payment
  1. Upon acceptance, an invoice will be issued per the following structure: 

  2. Installations:

    1. 50% payment is due upon receipt of the initial invoice to cover material costs.

    2. 30% payment is due at least 2 days prior to job commencement to cover initial labour.

    3. The remaining balance is due on site on completion – payment can be made via bank transfer, credit card (surcharge applies) or Pay To

  3.  Other Works:

    1. 50% payment is required on acceptance of quote. Balance is due on site on completion - payment can be made via  bank transfer, credit card (surcharge applies) or Pay To.

    2. Initial payments are non-refundable once materials have been ordered.

  4. Cancellations before materials are ordered are subject to a cancellation fee.

Additional Charges & Call Out Fees
  1. GST and other taxes and duties that may be applicable will be added to the Price except when they are expressly included in the Price.

  2. Bookings cancelled within 2 hours from attendance will be subject to a $199+GST call out fee. 

  3. When attending site for a Repair Quote, $199+GST call out fee will be charged on the spot. This will be waived from the quote if the client choses to proceed with the works. 

  4. After hours Call Out Fee apply:     

    1. Saturday and weekday after-hours works incur a call-out fee of $199+GST.     

    2. Sunday and Public Holiday works incur a call-out fee of $249+GST. 

  5. Pre-work Site Visits

    1. KGD offers one (1) complimentary site visit for initial assessment, measurements, and a quote. Any additional site visits before the initial payment is made will incur a $249+GST call out fee per visit.

    2. After the initial payment has been received, KGD will provide up to two (2) additional site visits for final measurements and, if necessary, to assess the structure and opening. Any additional site visits that may be required will incur a $249+GST call out fee per visit. 

  6. Warranty-Related Visits:   

    1. Business hours will not incur a call out fee if warranty is valid.

    2. Standard call-out fees apply for after hours visits (See 5.1).

Works & Liability
  1. KGD will complete all works in a thorough and professional manner in accordance with the agreed specifications, unless it becomes legally or physically impossible to do so. 

  2. KGD is not liable for damage to personal property that is not visible or disclosed by the client. This includes, but is not limited to, concealed items such as pipes behind walls or vehicles left in the garage. Clients must inform KGD of any hidden or sensitive property or remove it during installation or works where possible. 

  3. In the event of damage to the client's property caused by negligence during the works, KGD will be liable to repair or compensate for the damage, provided it is reported within 7 days of the incident.

Commencement & Completion
  1. Estimated start and completion dates provided by KGD are approximate. KGD will not be liable for delays in the commencement or completion of works. 

  2. Works are only deemed completed once the final balance is paid. KGD has the right to withhold remotes, keys or other final items until the final balance is paid. 

  3. KGD is not liable for delays caused by factors beyond our control, including supplier delays, weather conditions, client-related delays (such as site readiness) or unforeseen circumstances.

Client Responsibilities & Site Readiness
  1. The client must provide suitable access to their property for KGD to carry out the works, including any necessary defect rectification.

  2. The client is responsible for ensuring site access and a clear work area for installation.

  3. The client is responsible for the integrity of the structure to which the garage door is fixed. KGD does not take responsibility for the integrity of the structure and any defects or damage resulting from an inadequate structure are not covered by KGD. 

  4. Electrical requirements and any structural modifications needed for installation are the clients’ responsibility unless otherwise agreed. This includes and is not limited to, installation of powerpoints or provision of wiring including extension cables. 

  5. Site Readiness   

    1. Clients must notify KGD at least 48 hours in advance if the site is not prepared for installation. Failure to do so will incur a $300+GST fee.    

    2. An unprepared site includes but is not limited to: lack of cleared work areas, unsafe conditions, or incomplete prerequisite works (e.g., electrical work). A rescheduling fee of $300+GST will apply for each visit required to address an unprepared site.

  6. The Client acknowledges that:

    1. Clearances, including operational tolerances and gaps, between new and existing structures will exist;

    2. KGD is not responsible for any gaps that result from uneven, sloped, or imperfect flooring surfaces. The performance of the garage door is dependent on the condition of the floor and walls between which it is installed. Any pre-existing or natural irregularities in the floor or walls may cause gaps to appear, which are beyond KGD's control. If gaps are present, customers may need to purchase additional materials such as brush seals or other gap-closing accessories to minimise the issue. Any modifications or adjustments required to address floor- or wall-related gaps are not included in the standard installation and may incur additional costs.

    3. Minor gaps between the panel of the door and top of the opening for Tilt Doors is expected due to the operational requirements and mechanical design of the door system. This gap does not indicate a defect and is not covered under any warranty or liability claims by KGD.

    4. KGD provides no warranty for goods installed in corrosive environments eg: salt air, or industrial fall out 

  7. The Client acknowledges that:

    1. Timber faced Goods must be properly prepared and sealed on both sides and all edges. It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure that they are properly painted or otherwise sealed in a professional manner by the Client within 24 hours of installation or prior to the product being exposed to water or humidity;

    2. Steel and timber components used in the provision of the Services are supplied unpainted unless specified. It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure that they are properly painted or otherwise sealed in a professional manner within 24 hours of installation or prior to the product being exposed to water or humidity

    3. Goods require regular maintenance by the Client and regular servicing by a professional. Service intervals must not exceed twelve (12) months (or sooner depending upon but not limited to application, product and usage). Service, maintenance and all associated costs are the responsibility of the Client. Maintenance instructions are available from KGD and/or the manufacturer.

    4. Roller shutters may produce noise during operation due to their mechanical components and design. This noise level may vary based on factors such as installation, usage, and environmental conditions. KGD is not responsible for any operational noise associated with roller shutters and does not consider this a defect.        

    5. Due to normal operation, internal components of roller shutters may experience wear, leading to minor scratches or marks. These are a natural result of the movement of the shutter and do not affect its functionality. KGD does not cover scratches under any warranty or service agreement (unless caused by KGD).

    6. KGD shall not be held liable for any complaints regarding noise levels or internal scratching of roller shutters. The Client acknowledge these as inherent characteristics of the product and accept that they do not constitute a manufacturing defect.

  8. The Client is responsible for:

    1. Obtaining any permits that may be necessary for the provision of the Goods and Services;

    2. Ensuring the integrity of the structure and opening for which the door and/or product will be installed;

    3. Any electrical work including, but not limited to, the supply and installation of a power point to be used with any door opener; and where any underground work is involved (including but not limited to setting posts into concrete), the Client is responsible for taking all reasonable steps, including engaging the services of “Before You Dig” and other service providers to ensure that the area is clear of any potential underground services. 

  9. Whilst KGD will take all care to avoid damage to any underground services, the Client indemnifies KGD in respect of all liability, claims, loss, damage, costs and fines as a result of damage to any underground services.

Warranty & Exclusions
  1. Warranty claims must be submitted in writing within the warranty period. KGD will assess the claim and provide a resolution within 14 days.

  2. Standard warranty period is 24 months, unless specified.

  3. The Client must within seven (7) days of delivery, notify KangarooGD Pty Ltd in writing of any evident defect, damage, shortage in quantity, or failure to comply with the description or quote. The Client must notify any other alleged defect in the Goods or Services as soon as reasonably possible after any such defect becomes evident. Where the Client makes any notification of defect, damage, shortage in quantity, or failure to comply with the description or quote, the Client must allow KangarooGD Pty Ltd to inspect the Goods or Services as soon as reasonably practicable. 

  4. Exclusions

    1. Oil Canning: Oil Canning can be defined as visible waviness in the flat areas of metal roofing and metal wall panels. In technical terms, oil canning is referred to as elastic buckling (more commonly known as “stress wrinkling”). It can occur in any type of metal panels: steel, aluminium, zinc, or copper. The degree of waviness can be difficult to measure, but may be apparent, especially under specific lighting conditions. Smooth-finish Colorbond doors may experience oil canning, causing surface distortion. This is a natural occurrence and is not covered under KGD’s warranty.

    2. Corrosion, Rust, and Natural Wear and Tear: KGD provides no warranty for goods installed in corrosive environments e.g.: salt air, or industrial fall out

    3. Impact: Damage from impact of any sort

    4. Higher Frequency use: Components will experience higher levels of wear in applications such as multi car park entrance products for example. This will reduce the warranty period accordingly.

    5. Springs: Balance and tension in the springs will require adjustment, and this is not included in the warranty. Springs must be regularly adjusted and maintained, and will be at the cost of the purchaser.

    6. Timber Looking finishes: These are designed to imitate the look of natural timber and will have variation in the look and finish. This is not considered a defect and is not covered under this warranty.

    7. Additional access or equipment required: Expenses incurred by KGD required to provide clear access, or the equipment used to access the product (for example: Lifting hardware such as forklift or scissor lift) are not covered by this warranty and must be paid for by the purchaser.

    8. Electrical Power: Any damage, issues or faults caused by electrical surge or fluctuation

    9. Frequency Interference: Where remote transmitters cannot operate the opener due to frequency interference.

    10. Outside of control: Damage due to, but not limited to rain, hail, flood, water, fire or any other event beyond the reasonable control of KGD.

    11. Thermal Bowing: Where the door panel will expand, contract or bow due to temperature fluctuations.

    12. Consumer Goods: Components such as globes, batteries and other consumable parts are not covered by this warranty.

  5. Warranty Void if:

    1. Other Devices: The fitment of any device to the product which is not approved by KGD.

    2. Water Damage: Where water has caused rust, corrosion or other damage.

    3. Corrosion: Any damage caused by corrosive conditions including salt and proximity to the sea or any other corrosive environment.

    4. Unauthorised acts: Any modifications, repairs or works carried out by anyone who is not authorised by KGD

    5. Unreasonable use: If the product is not used correctly or reasonably as deemed by KGD

    6. Instructions: Failure to observe any directions or instructions, including any warning notifications in instruction manuals or signs on or provided with the products

    7. Improper Protective Coating: Where the product is provided in a raw or unfinished condition, this warranty will be void if improper or untimely application or unsuitable or inadequate protective coating is applied to the product we will not be responsible for any damage to the door resulting therefrom

    8. Outside Control: Any events or acts beyond reasonable control of KGD

Ownership of Materials

Ownership of all materials remains with KGD until full payment is received. The client assumes risk for loss or damage to materials upon delivery to the site. KGD reserves the right to reclaim unpaid materials or impose a lien.

Force Majeur

KGD will not be held liable for delays or non-performance resulting from circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, supplier disruptions, or government actions.

Limitations of Liability

KGD's liability for any claim arising from this agreement is limited to the cost of the services provided or, where applicable, the replacement of materials. Indirect or consequential losses are excluded.
